With this year’s festival now feeling like a distant but fabulous dream, we hope everyone’s having a wonderful summer and enjoying lots of reading time. For anyone who would like to have a peek at some of our events in June – especially if you didn’t manage to get to everything you wanted to – we have now updated our Flickr page with a selection of photos which we think gives a really good snapshot of the huge variety of events and venues in the mix across the county.
This includes some of our sell-out Festival ‘firsts’. Three events in particular spring to mind: our somewhat intrepid event with writers Ken Worpole and Jules Pretty in The Packing Shed on Packing Shed Marsh Island off Mersea; our entertaining author event with Sally Gardner at the Federation of Essex Women’s Institute Centre near Hatfield Peverel, and finally our artist event with James Cahill and Maggi Hambling in The Minories, which took place on a memorably sweltering hot day.
We would love to hear about your favourite festival moments, and beyond that, what you would like to see on the menu for June 2026. Planning is already underway! Please let us know your thoughts and ideas at surveymonkey.com/r/EBFideas or send them to us at hello@essexbookfestival.org.uk.
