Sundream: Monologue Writing Course

Do you want to learn how to write for the stage? Do you want to have a chance to hear your work performed by professional actors? Or are you completely new to writing and want to give it a go in a friendly group?

Join Wise Ram Theatre at the Jaywick Community & Resource Centre on September 2nd for an inspiring and practical course.

This is the last of two workshops teaching you how to write a monologue for the stage, led by scriptwriter Molly Anne Sweeney. Don’t worry if you missed the first one, just come along to the second one!

For anyone who’s interested, we can send the writing tasks from the previous workshop, for you to complete at home in your own time. All participants will also receive new writing prompts to their inbox, to help them generate material ahead of the workshop on in September.

In the workshop there will be an opportunity to receivie encouraging and supportive feedback on any written material you bring in.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, this 2-part course is designed to help you craft compelling monologues inspired by everyday life and the local environment. Learn to develop characters and what makes a monologue work on stage, not just on paper!
