DESCRIPTION:Expressive Writing Workshop: Coming Home\nby Art:UP! Culture Accelerator\nSaturday 06 June\n2.30pm - 4.30pm\nClacton Library\nFree\, spaces limited so please book at eventbrite.co.uk\nThis Expressive Writing Workshop supports people to create new poetry on the subject of "coming home".\n\nJoin us in the meeting room at Clacton Library to explore the idea of 'Coming Home' through writing.\n\nThis gentle\, accessible workshop aims to support you to write in your own style and to share thoughts with others. Designed with neurodiversity in mind\, but open to all\, facilitator Polly Barnes holds space with light touch and gentle guidance. There will be some time to share our writing\, but no obligation to do so.\n\nAttendance is free but please book your place.\n\nBring along whatever writing equipment you prefer to use - a favourite pen\, writing journal\, laptop\, phone. A journal and pen will be provided to all participants.\n\nFor inspiration\, Polly suggests you may wish to bring along a small object or photo (digital is fine) of something which means ‘home’ to you. Bring yourself a cold drink.\n\nThis workshop is part of the Art:UP! collaborative poetry project which aims to improve access to poetry through collaboration and performance events across Essex\, in association with the University of Essex\, Essex Book Festival\, Waxes Lyrical in Chelmsford\, Poetry Plus in Manningtree and Clacton’s own Boho Banter. The final event of the project is an open mic event at Reuby’s Salt Beef and Cheesecake Bar on 20th June 2026 - Book open mic tickets here.\n\n \n\n \n\n
