Drawing on Memories marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, offering visitors a chance to explore the period through a combination of artworks, historical objects, and community stories.
The exhibition highlights the work of 11 artists who served as official war artists or documented life during the war, including Edward Bawden, Dame Laura Knight, Henry Moore, John Piper, and Graham Sutherland. These works provide a glimpse into life during wartime and the varied ways artists responded to the events around them.
Harlow Art Trust are grateful to the team at Harlow Museum for their support and for contributing and curating specially selected objects from their collections as part of the exhibition.
As part of the display, they are also inviting visitors to contribute their own family memories, photographs, or stories related to the Second World War.
